I'm the same as electronomist, I like most of the stuff on that list except for rnb. I've got very eclectic tastes and appreciate any music that's had some time and effort put into it. I grew up as a rock/indie kid, it wasn't till I was about 16 that I started getting in to EDM

You're right, but I can not.
Will be because I started with this kind of music when I was very young (I was only 11 years).
But the main thing for me is that the music transmit something (emotions, desire to dance, want to move, ..) and other types of music not send me anything.
And if the music that you plays do not say anything to you, then you can't hear it.
This is my opinion.

I see where youre coming from, 90's trance holds fantastic memories for me too, but im lucky, i can hear greatness in various genres of music!

I enjoy music with energy, therefore a lot of genres suit me, drum & bass, dubstep, trance, hardcore, hardstyle, metal, punk rock..... see what i mean? :)

Yes, I understand, I'm not so lucky.
For me, besides energy serves the melody and this excludes other kinds of electronic music (commercial-house, minimal, electro, hardstyle, hardcore, etc.) and many commercial music (rap, rock, pop, etc.).
Fortunately I am one of two community (TC and The Remember) that I filled with songs that I do not know is that the current golden age of electronic music.
Music is the only drug I need!!

A lot of soft stuff then :toung: although Machine Head's 'Davidian' is a blinding tune, i prefer bands like Slayer, Venom, Kreator, Discharge, GBH, Municipal Waste and the list goes on............

I don't usually listen to a lot of metal/punk (well i do with punk but mainly old stuff), but saw municipal waste at leeds fest a couple of years ago, they ____ing rocked, and with plenty of humour, loved it (and that's coming from someone who's mainly a raver lol)

Municipal Waste are probably the most fun band i've seen since King Kurt. I'm the opposite to you i'm mainly a Punk who does enjoy a rave.

Thrash fan i see :) I like anything thats aggressive or melodic, but not emo shit, or 'scene' shit. I like my metal to be as beefy as possible, without being ridiculous like death metal. Love early hatebreed, their old stuff was killer hardcore!

Also, i love ska punk, Mad Caddies rule the roost by a mile, but Reel Big Fish are legends too! Also underground stuff like buck o nine, five iron frenzy, the impossibles etc... all the shit right there :D

Indeed, davidian is a classic! Most bands i loved have all gone pussy now so i dont really bother with the whole scene much, its all gone emo fringe crew bollocks even at serious gigs.

As if I don't catch enough shit for liking Vocal Trance, I'll expose myself to even more ridicule.

I love 80's & 90's Heavy Metal !

Def Leppard, Motely Crue, Poison, Ratt, Dokken, Tesla, Skid Row, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Great White, Metalica, etc. Love em all !!! [thumbsup]

In today's rock music, my favorite are the twins from down under,
THE VERONICAS

Death Metal only gets ridiculous when it gets Brutal then the Cookie Monster vocals get a bit silly, And Hatebreed's stuff still is good although they have gone more metallic now. I don't mind some Ska Punk but i do prefer my Punk 'Hardcore' and i also hate the emo fringe Ninja kicking bollocks.

Indeed that emo 'mosh' is tragic :wtf: All gigs i go to are full of emos, thye seem to have taken over the whole genre. Yeah, i preferred hatebreed on their album 'satisfaction is the death of desire', proper short, heavy belters!

____ing emo bands stealing the beatdown! ASSHOLES!!!!!! That sounds like enter shikari mixed with a day to remember mixed with as i lay dying.

Ever since A Day To Remember released the highly original 'for those who have heart', everyones copying them! That album is irresistable, pure pop punk catchiness with proper beatdowns! But this is just too whiny and gay.
