How do you organize your cds when Dj'ing?

i`m not dj`ing so i think i`ll pass this one out

my first dj boss used to organise his collection in the dewey decimal system like a friggen library and have it cross sectioned in to genres

that was a bit loopy !!

mmm, well i would like to have time to organize my cds, but i will organize by BPM and Genres

Well i voted by Artist, although that's never strictly alphabetical or anything! More like ordered by genre, just placing similar sounding tunes next to each other, then playing it by ear (was always how my record boxes were arranged!).

I cannot vote in this, my choice isn't there...

I organise them by the way I burn them... in Random order.

I mainly still use vinyl when DJing, but when I have to use CDs I burn them and never worry about a specific order...

I do it by genre, highlight each genre! Ie, green for harder & yellow for vocal.

I put by artist, because I burn them in alphabetical order and the artist name comes first, but overall it's just in order by newest. I do, however, rank each song by energy level on a 1-3 scale. 1 being pretty chill, say like most Andy Duguid songs, 3 being way high energy like Daniel Kandi. I do this because sometimes when spinning I'll get a song name in my head, but not remember exactly how it goes, so it lets me kind of check to see if it would fit.
