sorry hehe, yeah indeed modern day 'urban' music is poor, i used to like hip hop years ago but its all about ass, cash and chicken now! Oh and rims! Retards :hmm:

also, i would separate hip hop (which can sometimes be good) from RnB (which is total shit)....also progressive house and tech house.... :)

Well electro, Tribal, minimal, Prog house and tech house could fall under the general thing of House. But yeah maybe Techno should be there.

I was just interested in which of those you like, not the entire spectrum of music :D

House means if you like any type of house etc...

I hate hip hop & rnb, but i put it because most people like it!

If i was to write all those sub genres down then id have to do it with all of them....Drum & Bass, liquid, tech step.... then metal, prog, industrial, black etc...Punk, pop punk, emo punk, rockabilly etc.....itd never end lol

So lets just stick to what ive put :)

Ha ha yeah, I do divide things into sub genres when buying music, or DJing it, but in general, house is house, techno is techno etc, lol. You're right, you would be here forever trying to include every little sub genre!

I like ludachris' rapping, and eminem's old tunes, but have never liked black eyed peas (except i gotta feelin, because it was played a lot round ibiza lol). But i agree about shitty R&B! lol. I like some metal too as well as dance, but much prefer seeing it played live!

Metal and Rock...

I think a big percentage of trance listeners appreciate metal and rock.

I'm also a fan of Eminem, 50 Cent, and Akon but I don't listen to hip hop in general.

I can't vote as like most people here i listen to most genre's in the list, with the exceptions of Indie and R'n'B(the new stuff not the original R'n'B). But if pushed i'd vote Punk as that was the music i grew up with and i am a Punk.

I only listen to electronic music, in addition to Trance (in all its subgenres, Classic, Hard, Acid, Psy, Uplifting, ..) only listen to Techno (that beautiful of 90's) and the Italian Progressive (also this 90's).

I'm the same as electronomist, I like most of the stuff on that list except for rnb. I've got very eclectic tastes and appreciate any music that's had some time and effort put into it. I grew up as a rock/indie kid, it wasn't till I was about 16 that I started getting in to EDM

You're right, but I can not.
Will be because I started with this kind of music when I was very young (I was only 11 years).
But the main thing for me is that the music transmit something (emotions, desire to dance, want to move, ..) and other types of music not send me anything.
And if the music that you plays do not say anything to you, then you can't hear it.

I see where youre coming from, 90's trance holds fantastic memories for me too, but im lucky, i can hear greatness in various genres of music!

I enjoy music with energy, therefore a lot of genres suit me, drum & bass, dubstep, trance, hardcore, hardstyle, metal, punk rock..... see what i mean? :)

Yes, I understand, I'm not so lucky.
For me, besides energy serves the melody and this excludes other kinds of electronic music (commercial-house, minimal, electro, hardstyle, hardcore, etc.) and many commercial music (rap, rock, pop, etc.).
Fortunately I am one of two community (TC and The Remember) that I filled with songs that I do not know is that the current golden age of electronic music.
Music is the only drug I need!!

I don't usually listen to a lot of metal/punk (well i do with punk but mainly old stuff), but saw municipal waste at leeds fest a couple of years ago, they ____ing rocked, and with plenty of humour, loved it (and that's coming from someone who's mainly a raver lol)
