*** Need help with equipment for new DJ please respond**
Hello
I'm a beginning dj that loves trance music ect.. and would like to start a career as a performing dj. So i decided to purchase Ableton live 8 suite edition ,APC 40 Ableton controller , #2 CDJ-2000 Pioneer , And last but not least A DJM-2000 as my mixer . I would appreciate any feedback good or bad , I'm in this for the love of trance music not the money. Again i don't scratch or listen to r&b so that's my style . thanks again |

I think you have chosen some nice equipment there, but don't think you'll need all that to start off with! You're not likely to use it all to be honest. Just the cdj's and mixer are all you need, I'd recommend spending the rest on speakers rather than the apc. Ableton is great for producing tunes, but I would never really use it for djing alongside cdjs. You can do that of course but I'm betting you won't get that kind of use out of it.

As long as your shitting out money, I'll have a TR808, 909, 606, TB303, Juno, Andromeda, JP 8000, and 32 Channel mixer please! ![]() Dont be fooled into thinking that because you have good hardware A) you will be good, B) the music will sound any better. That stuff you listed will run you well up to and maybe over 5 grand. What happens after 3 or 4 months and you lose interest and then your stuck with DJ gear you dont want you spent a small fortune on. I'd say get some cheap gear first, practise and then move up to the more expensive stuff once your good and fully committed about being a DJ |
