Anyone like happy hardcore?
I personally find a lot of it pretty bad: the melody is cheesy, vocals are too childish and horribly pitched and for starters a lot is unoriginal it sounds the same to me all. I know any happy hardcore fan will punch me in the face and say: "Happy hardcore is like injecting candy into your brain" The only good thing about it is that many cds are very cheap due to the low demand (Based on what I've seen on Discogs browsing) so if I decide to buy some I won't have to waste too much on most releases. It's impossible for me to find a truely good release from this style. In fact I just mute the computer when I dislike 30 seconds of some track. Any hopes for this genre? It's obvious that it's basically a variant of Eurodance only much more cheesier by average. But ain't that supposed to be it's purpose?

I have a Love/hate relationship with it... it's a guilty pleasure lol.
I mainly would listen to stuff from '94-'97 though, liked it then. Why would you buy something you don't like?! |

There are some exceptions. I like some releases and have yet to discover some decent ones. Strangely, a lot is spoken in a language that isn't English mostly German. Wonder why few trance releases are spoken in German? When Germany is the capital of trance music. Almost everything is in English.

Me thinks you don't know much about classic trance not the 1997-Up stuff. Most early trance from 1990-1996 was made in Germany. Reason why I call it that. Holland started much later making it by average. Nowdays, Holland probably produces more than Germany. Holland is for me, the capital of Hardcore (More to the Gabber stuff.) Just my 10 cents. |
