I'm banned from YouTube because of a stupid trance label...
After 282 Full HD videos, I was banned from youtube, 2 months ago...I created my channel in November, with tunes from all kind of music, from jazz to HM and from disco to our favourite trance. The purpose of making the channel was to share known or unknown tunes of the best quality music i listened to the last 35 years. That was clear to my channel, I defined that my purpose was to upload quality music I legally owned, not for dl, just for listening. Finally I was banned because of a trance label "Trance All Stars", because of violation of blah...blah...blah...I thought of sending them a humiliating e-mail, but i finally didn't. Shame on you, Trance All Stars, i almost stopped listening to trance because of this! Stupid, stupid people!

Create a new account and mass upload the lot minus the reported tracks. Thats all you can do now.
Or give up and hate Trance because of some shit label who is killing the Genre. |

I'm sorry mate, I too have had some warning about some videos that I uploaded but I don't care of it, if they want delete the video ok, otherwise I leave them.
To avoid most of the problems I up only tracks from the 90s. However you can try to up not the whole track, but reducing it, so it would be a samples and don't think there are problems. In any case, from now I don't buy anymore tracks of Trance All Stars |

Put this on your channel and vidoes:
Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for fair use; for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use. Also you never actually own any music legally even if you bought. All you have is a COPY of it that belongs to the artist and all your entiltled to is to listen to it in your home or on a personal entertainment system and thats it. |

That's bad that, unlucky. So they didn't warn you first? I've had copyright warnings, which is fair enough, but an instant ban is harsh. It's as if these people don't want their music heard, or the free publicity!
IRL303 gave some good advice there, in addition i would encourage also adding a link to a place where listeners can legally purchase a copy of the tune (that may, or may not help, depends on the label. But you would be foolish to want a link to a shop where you can buy the music removed!) |

ELECTRONOMIST: For the specific tune there was no warning. The general rule is that after 3 warnings you are banned. I already had 2 warnings already from November: 1) For "Solid Globe - Sahara" (For God's sake!) 2) For a tune from Soundlift's last work, "Yerevan" from Abora Recordings, another "bad story" Label. Since then, I always marked that if the owners have a problem with the video, I would immediately withdraw it. And I didn't mention before, I always had the links for the tunes to buy. At least great companies like WMG, Universal etc., have the way to stop your video from being showed in YT, without warn you or ban you. |

Ah right ok. Still it angers me all these outdated labels with small minded attitudes. Penalising the very people who are most likely to gain them business, the people who genuinely love the music and wish to introduce it to others (potential new customers!). Crazy in my eyes

agree with you electronomist. Its nothing short of lunacy!
On one hand I can see why smaller (independent) labels, new to the industry strongly oppose it and likewise why the major labels also oppose it. The older lesser know tracks that get posted by artists and labels that have been long since defunked that get users banned for copyright infringment is stupid. Its not like they are losing any money when people post their tracks. Half the stuff is either not around or not on itunes to even buy. The records that get bought and sold on discogs, not a cent goes to the artist, infact, how a site like that is even legal is beyond me...I mean it really is illegal trading of music which is prohibited as stated on most CDs and Records. I'd say its gonna get much worse on youtube with any kinda media be it music or video, I mean they already have some shite that pops up on some vids thats says due to copyright restrictions this video cant be shown in your location, I mean what a load of bollix. It seems they just want it to be another tool to market product and make money. |

Yep thats a winner there. My Mediafire account took a minor hit weeks ago when some company disabled one of my uploads it was Lords Of Octagon - Open Da House (Moderators be sure to erase that post.) like anyone is losing money on that and even if the tracks are avaliable on digital download stores (In this case it is) almost no one buys that. I think the reason is that maybe Energized Records might still be up since a number of their releases are for download on sites like Amazon & I-Tunes pile of retards! like your losing anything on my so dangerous illegal download from a release I legally own and barely anyone knows about. Sorry to hear that Chalkdot I had an account with about 200 vids about a year ago and I took it down myself when I got a second strike from Blackhole Records for Cosmic Gate - Exploration Of Space (It was on my channel for about 2 years before It got removed) even though it's a fairly pitiful number of vids compared to some bigger uploaders but still annoying. And how many Exploration Of Space videos are there?? probably quite a number since it's a common trance tune. So go Blackhole remove all of them from YT.
I don't bother opening a channel for YT vids anymore. A waste of time when your almost always doom to lose your channel any second. Even if you put those notices that IRL mention some retarded label is hiding waiting to strike and destroy all that uploading work. I wouldn't make another channel if I were you, every day it's harder to maintain an account when those label hawks are watching you. Or keep trying you might be lucky and hold on to the new account for a bit longer till you have to start again from scratch. |

I don't get it. A little while ago my video "Der Verfall - Der Mussolini (Radio Edit)" got removed from YouTube (my second strike) 'due to a copyright claim by BM Entertainment'. What is this 'BM Entertainment'? I can't see any connection with BM Entertainment and the label Maad Records, where the whole album was released back in 2000. Can anyone help me?

Might be an easy way around it
reupload with different title Der Verfa11 - D8r Mu550l1n1 (Rad1o Ed1t) Ive often seen it happening and working when titles are auto vetted. Only problem is search doesnt work but it will be seen by your subscribers or anyone who looks at your channel. |

Meh, what's the point of sharing on YT when I can upload whole release(s) here and share it here 1,000,000,000 times better quality than on Youtube. If you like my uploads, the best thing you would do is buy it. But then I would be exchanging risks. Now, I would have to keep an eye on potencial bastards reporting my files on Mediafire which has happen once since I moved there last year.
Also @ Fantasy5001: That is bullshit. Maad Records has been defunct since 2001... I just checked Discogs and could be the fact that BM Entertainment is related to WEA Music which was the original parent of Maad Records and WEA (Warner Music) is a major label I haven't found out that BM Entertainment is a sublabel of WEA, but could be simple bullshitting that those cry babies were having on a release that isn't making money at all. Simple, ____ Youtube and upload somewhere else like Metacafe or Dailymotion sure the audience is much lower than the big daddy of Video sites, but less chance that you'll get caught. CHRIS has a good point, but the search won't be that effective, unless you fix tags... not worth the hassle doing that in my view. |
