I've known the Dutch DJ Ferry Corsten for a long time now, but it was just last June that I was able to listen to his songs. When I first researched about Corsten, I found out that he is one of the world's renowned DJs. Having received awards and achievements, I knew that Ferry was gonna shut my ears for good. After that, I listened to this album, "L.E.F." , and I knew that Armin van Buuren wont be sitting on the throne that long. The album has 15 tracks and 1 bonus track depending on the edition you have. 1. "Intro" 0:59 2. "Are You Ready" 5:42 3. "Fire" feat. Simon Le Bon 4:31 4. "L.E.F." 3:24 5. "Into The Dark" feat. Howard Jones 5:43 6. "Galaxia" 7:31 7. "Beautiful" feat. Debra Andrew 5:54 8. "Possession" feat. Denise Stahlie 5:49 9. "On My Mind" feat. Denise Stahlie 4:47 10. "Down On Love" feat. Oz 4:56 11. "Forever" feat. Debra Andrew 3:21 12. "Watch Out" 4:00 13. "Junk" feat. Guru 2:37 14. "Cubikated" 4:59 15. "Freefalling" feat. Denise Stahlie 5:28 16. "Bonus Tracks" Overall, the album contains tracks of different sub-genres of the trance genre: progressive, electro, hard trance, electro-house,melodic,uplifting and trance itself. You can see the diversity of Corsten's style with these tracks. Fire- This is the lead track of this album and it is also my most favorite track in this album. This electro-trance track was composed from the sample taken from the song "Serious" by Duran Duran. This song features electronic riffs transposed from the original guitar riff from the rock song, and the vocal samples of Simon Le Bon. This song also has another addicting remix: Goatus' Flashover Reconstruction. ![]() L.E.F.- The song features a variety of electronic styles like the looping SOS sound, the robotic vocals and the energetic rhythm of the song. Into The Dark- This is another personal favorite of mine. I have the Breakfast remix of this, but nothing beats the original version. The rhythm can be compared to "Mindcircus [Gabriel & Dresden Remix]" by Way Out West. I can say that the chorus of the song is one of the best, simply one one the best. AMAZING! Galaxia-This one's also good one because this song gives you a unique celestial atmosphere while retaining its trance vibe. Watch Out- The electronic vocals were made by Ferry himself. This song is made up of mostly electronic riffs and high energy rhythm like L.E.F. Cubikated- This is the heaviest track on the album because of its "dark" main riff that loops almost throughout the song. If I were a DJ, I would play this song when everyone's really dancing since you'll just get hyped more with this tune. Freefalling- This can be compared to the stereotype songs of Chicane; categorized by its aerial ambiance, shallow drum beats,treble-rich samples and bass riffs inspired by gravity (and free-falling). Every track is worth listening. Like what I've said, Armin should start counting his days as the King of trance because Ferry is flying sky high with his new efforts. But in the end, no one really cares who is number one or two-- it's all about good music that brings unity. Why 5 stars? 1. Songs are very dance-worthy. 2. The songs are really diverse ,and music styles vary from one another. 3. Creative manipulation of the songs in terms of remaking "Serious" into "Fire". 4. It's loud. 5. It's electronic. 6. It's ferocious. 7. You wont regret listening to all songs. 8. Caters to people's different trance sub genre interests. That's all for now. I hope you've found this helpful. Thanks L.E.F. 5/5

Yes he did...Also showed in Right of Way but after Twice in a blue moon...I don't think he has guts to be No. 1 DJ for at least 2 more years

I love Corsten, he is one of the best djs out there in my opinion.
The L.E.F album is massive, every sound, every beat, every chorus, every bass line points straight to the heart. This is a great review, but i totally disagree with the comments concerning the Twice In A Blue Moon lp. This album is just furious, i wasn't expecting a L.E.F pt II of course, i just love its gloomy atmosphere. Every beat, every rhythm change is placed in such an order so as to complete this exceptional record. Massive sounds, massive feelings. Ferry Corsten deserves more credit than many well known djs.
