Is Tiesto Worth It?
Does anybody think Tiesto is worth going to see for any trance fans?I mean since he went kind of commercial electro i havent really been much of a fan but does seeing hom live with all the lazers and fireworks really make him that bit more special? He is coming to the 02 in Dublin in march and i am considering going so i am looking for any trance fans opinions about him??

I seen him afew times before he became to famous and always had a good night.
Dunno if I'd see him now I judging on his latest stuff, but I sure he'll mix it up a bit. If your thinking about it just go, its not two often you'd get the change in Ireland and you never know he could pop his clogs at anytime :D Last edited by ScatCat; 01-14-2010 at 06:46 PM. |

Heard he's still something to see live. One of my friends said he only played two of his new songs, and played lethal industry, traffic, adagio, and a couple of other trancier tracks in the last hour of his show too :) This was like 5 months ago :)

hey bro, i been a big tiesto fan for years, and i know what u mean about no being sure to see him now, specially after kaleidescope
but i went to his kaleidescope tour, and even tough he played allmost all the tracks in the cd, some of them where tracks from his clublife, i totally recommend you go! it is still an amazing show, its a little more electro influenced. Also he will play very good remixes of his classics tracks. hope this helps |

I've seen him 3 times this year. His first set was good and the atmosphere was amazing, I've really enjoyed that night. The second time was absolutely A M A Z I N G! I went absolutely crazy. Some tracks he played: Lethal Industry, Traffic, Adagio for Strings, Forever Today, Carpe Noctum, Elements of Life, Dance 4 Life, Love Comes Again, Flight 643 and a lot of quality tracks of other dj's. The best performance I've ever seen. Then I bought tickets for Evolution (what a line up!). I was really excited and looking forward to see Tiësto playing. Ummet Ozcan, Chuckie and Markus Schulz were really good but then Tiësto... He really ruined it for me. I left after 2 hours of his set, it was absolutely rubbish. Since then I have mixed feelings, I still really love his old music but i don't like his new Kaleidoscope style at all. But still, if you have the oppertunity to see him, i wouldtake the chance. Even if it's just to tell you friends you went to Tiësto..;) Let us know how it's been when you went to the gig.

thanks for all the replys i think from reading all of them i might go after all. the tickets are only 55 euro so thats not too bad and theres a rumour going around that Paul webster is supporting him,so if thats true, webster would bring the more trancier style to my night. I dont really mind some of the newer tiesto stuff but as long as he plays some old classics i will be happy

It could be a crap night but then again Paul webster could come out and play an amazing set. less of a chance but still a possibility of Tiesto playing an amazing set ( nearly laughed when i typed that :D)
watched a video of a recent set. he played trance tunes ive never heard before, crowd didnt react. he then played traffic and the crowd went nuts. thats the position hes put himself in. people just want to hear his just be album

I haven't seen him for years (when i last did he was still good lol). But when in Ibiza last year some of my friends went to see him at privilege and were shocked to find he was good (mainly because of playing lots of classics). I decided to use the night wisely and catch up on sleep instead ha ha. (not that i minded at all cos meant i was fresh for the next night).
Point being it could go either way, and for the price of a Tiesto 'gig' i wouldn't bother. I'd rather spend it on a ticket for a decent club playing guaranteed dirty ravey trancey music, from dj's who don't play stadiums lol. But hey thats just me. |

actually mate, he'll come to mexico, and i bought the ticket i am very fan to him and you know what??...i just waiting for the most incredible night!!...i saw him in 2008 in the same place, i'll go to see him on january 23, well well well, I THINK YOU SHOULD GO!...EVERYTHING IS AMAZING!!...recomended to all!...
besides i dont care if he changed his style for the house, he has 41 years old, he gave us a lot of years with happy faces and now he want to explore more things, different people, different music! common...everything is ok, is the same tiesto that we know! since my point of view!

He's worth it. Because as soon as he plays a good one, everyone forgets about the crap, that's for sure.
His past complilations/albums/tracks still greatly outweigh the recent bad album IMO. Last edited by kenzboard; 03-11-2010 at 07:02 AM. |

I saw him 4 years ago and had an amazing night! However, I saw him this past november at his kaleidoscope tour and I left completely disappointed. It wasn't even trance, I couldn't dance to it. The music was really slow, almost like house. He pretty much catered to his commerial crowd. There were so many bar stars attending the event, not trance lovers/ravers. So if you're expecting Tiesto from 4-5 years ago, don't go!

I saw the tour kaleidoscope kickoff in NYC in september and i was quite an experience, not as much trance as we'd all like, but i enjoy some tech house too. im seeing him next month in Atlantic City
so yes...ITS WORTH IT! |

maybe not, tiesto change much these last 2 years, and perhaps not worthy of it. but I hope that one day again be what it was.
I'm from Argentina I had the opportunity to see it to 07 here and it was very special, and others had good visuals, good sound, not help people, unpleasant people. and the year before in 2009 I saw "Creamfields Argentina" and not for anything I liked your set, you were 2 subjects had no visual so do not know what else to say

I have to admit I never saw Tiesto before he changed, but I have been to see him a couple of times since, I saw him on Thursday at Brixton academy, and for the part, he was excellent.
I can understand people being a little put off by his desire to go in a different direction, but I for one thought it was well worth the money, and having to get up early the next morning for work! |
