PC or 360 for Gaming??

Should i buy a good graphics card or a Xbox 360?

PS3 is out of the question till the prices drop a bit

What do you think is better?

PC all the way for me ;) I normally buy a decent GFX card every couple of years.

Blasphemy, you don't use a 360 controller to play FPS on the PC, defeats the purpose, plus you'll get owned, keyboard and mouse for total control. Once you figure it out you'll never use a controller again.

Is that link for a GTX 240 as it comes up as a GTX 460

GTX 460 great card alright, NVIDIA pulled the cat out of the bag with that one, definitely seems to be the best bang for your buck card at the moment.

What resolution is your monitor though ?

Heres the problem.

At the moment my PC is hooked up to a 1080p 47 inch lcd and i dont have a great spot for using the keyboard and mouse. So for the time being im limited to a joypad.

That was me that wrote 240. Its a 460 alright

I havent got stuck into a game in a long time so ill have a good choice . Have my eye on Battlefield

Id say go for a 360, as long as you get a recent model. Basically anything like the elite or the green box arcade pack as the chipset is much more reliable now. Have had 2 360's with the new chipset and no problems with either after a year!

Plus, as the new design 360 is out everyone are shifting their old ones so they are ridiculously cheap at the moment!

Thats a good point alright. Might have a look and see if theres any second hand around that havent been played close to death

The chipset you're after is called Jasper. Very reliable as they have moved stuff around and improved the fan. In Game Or Gamestation they are £69.99 used or a bit more with some games bundled in. You get a decent guarantee too, just take it back to the store!

If its that cheap id nearly get both. 70 you cant go wrong. Ill drop in there and see what the situation is with them.

Exactly, and in gamestation they have 4 for £20 on preowned 360 games with some decent titles in there!

Think ill have a quick look in the Irish one first for the sake of being able to return if faulty. Thats if its as cheap as the UK

No 1080p is down to the game you are playing and how you have it connected. You get the hd cable with it, which is component. If your tv supports 1080p and the game does which all do now then you're golden :)
