DJM-2000 discuss

Anyone else think this mixer is a bit much, there's just to much gadgetry on it.

Mmmm think i've just jizzed in my pants lol. I think it looks bloody good, but it's bound to be far too expensive so i'll never buy one!
The new cdj's are the same, very nice, brimming with technology, but too pricey.
I think that kind of mixer would suit Techno DJ's perfectly as that style of mixing involves a lot of fx and sound manipulation, saying that i'd give it a good workout on any style of music!

I'm considering buying a new mixer but going down the virtual vinyl route, using vinyl to control my mp3s.

I think they're saying it will around the Â£2000 mark, my main problem with it is you would just want to touch it and rub yourself against it. The touch pad EQ bit is enough for premature ejaculation on it's own, but for CDJ2000's and that your talking Â£5000 suddenly i've got brewers droop.

Funnilly enough the touchpad multi eq thing is the bit i thought was pointless, i mean i dont even like mixers with 4 band eq! Lol.
The touch screen does look great for the midi control etc which is what i would be using it for.
For the price a whole setup would cost i could buy the setup i really want plus some speakers, a synth, laptop, a (new... Well Second hand) car. Basically all the things i want to buy lol.

I think it'd be great for live production. Too much crap on it for most DJs, though. I can see a lot of stuff breaking on that, especially the touch pad. I have my doubts on its durability.

It does seem a bit pointless and the only people who will be buying it will be top DJ/producers or flash bastards with more money than sense. Personally i find a 2 channel mixer with a EQ is all i need, although if i had that sort of money i would buy that whole set up just because i like pretty lights(imagine mixing a bit worse for wear though them lights would be a bit off putting). As for durability Pioneer stuff is normally pretty good and touch screens seem good enough these days, but will we see in a couple of years time how good and reliable 2 grands worth of mixer is.

wow it looks a bit too technical to me but I'll take a trial if there's a chance, it's nothing to loose!
