I remember seeing this a while back, but I've never heard of Justice.
Notice it says Daft Punk pulls the pre-programmed set thing. I doubt that. |

justice are a techno band. they play soft techno. kinda like daft punks sound. they'v played at the i love techno event in belgium a few times.
well ya never know with the daft punk thing. it's a very hard to do a completely live set id say, they wouldnt cheat like justice did but maybe some of their stuff is pre recorded. |

pretty much all live sets are pre-recorded or pre-sequenced
especially those done by the the likes chemical bros and daft punk where there is a stage show that relies on the timing/structure of the songs |

I would assume they're pre-recorded loops, but that DP still chooses when to drop them.

Saw this article a while back. Its not too suprising really. At the end of the day these guys are producers not DJ's. Imagine trying to do a trance set completely from scratch using samples and VSTs!? almost impossible, so Trance DJs just mix songs. Most groups like Justice are using Ableton for their sets and its possible to pretty much set everything up prior to a show so you can't go wrong, mapping the beats and preparing perfect loops etc.. and your computer does most of the work. At the end of the Day Justice have produced the music so thats where the skill lies. Its still dissapointing to see that though its one thing playing a pre prepared set its another to pretend you're not!!
